For almost three weeks now, the body is empty of pork, beef and chicken. From day one of this new drama, I have been filling up the body with vegetables and fish to accompany the organic rice. I hope I can last as I avoid thinking about December and the food the overflows with the celebration of Christmas.

What's behind this? Because I agree with the contention that "you are what you eat." I do not mind being called talakitok, telapia, bangus, or bulad (tuyo or dried fish). I do not make it my problem if people call me malunggay, raddish, pipino, ampalaya, talong or orka.

It's a different story, though, if someone calls me baka or baboy.

What's with this "you are what you eat" thing?

It's bordering on lunacy and sometimes I am afraid people are just getting too much of it.

Hinay-hinay lang, be. Only one person would be happy with that unusual quote - si Jeff Stryker.

And I think the quote should be something like this: you are HOW you eat.

To call someone Baboy is the height of insult. Imagine being equated with a Congressman.

i may sound patronizing but this is inspiring... we are indeed what we eat... i use to have a body i'm proud of back when i worked out regularly and vigilantly watched what i put into my mouth...i faltered and now i feel like a total mess. i've been trying to go back to my old/better lifestye but i'm drowning with excuses blah blah blah...

for whatever it's worth, thanks for this nugget of inspiring reminder...

@ Kiks, to associate a person the manner he eats weighs lighter compared to painting him base on what he eats.

I mean, a voracious eater is a voracious eater and that's gross, and that dangles the question of etiquette.

But the howness can never defeat the whatness and you know that. The former can still be cliniced while the later definitely poses real challenge and more.

@Chyt, I super agree, maam. And I will surely abhor the thought of being labelled as buwaya or dog (my apologies to the buwaya and dog).

@chase, love, follow your desires. After all, life's too short to be overly problematizing all its complexities. You want to eat pork, go! heheheh...

@amicus, lay-out ko yan. hehehe...

@tin, good luck to all of us. wink...wink...

@bryan, hello. your welcome. I'm happy the blog has ivolved into something that can inspire people and for that, I am surprised.

Pinatayo mo ako sa hinihigaan ko kahit bawal. Hehehehe.

You got points there.

Can we just be like everything?

Kasi I eat everything.

Not literally...

so don't let people know about your diet. pero kung affected ka pa ren, eat patola or talong. para flattering pag may nang-insulto pa ren.

Buti ka pa bananas meron kang disiplina para gawin yan. I’ve tried to go vegan when I started practicing yoga almost half-a-year ago but I just couldn’t resist the temptations of the flesh (and by flesh I mean baka and baboy). I remember one of my yoga classmates telling our yoga teacher that she saw me eat a Big Mac and told him how I desecrated the sacred animal of Hinduism. That was mortifying.

Keep it up bananas. Sana ma-inspire din akong gawin ang iyong ginagawa. (Guilt-alert)
